History of Nam Yao Mazho Gyung Shrine in Thailand

Nam Yao Mazho Gyung Shrine was established in 2005 by a group of Thai-Taiwanese businesspeople, led by Mr. Tsai Chong Cheng and Mr. Lin Yao Tang. They requested a portion of the spiritual presence of Mazho from the Nam Yao Mazho Gyung Shrine in Changhua, Taiwan, to be enshrined in Thailand. A grand welcoming ceremony took place in 2006, featuring a parade of Mazho and other deities. The shrine also hosts annual events such as the Chinese New Year Festival, the Mazho Worship Ceremony, and the Vegetarian Festival, serving as a center of faith for the Thai-Taiwanese community.

Mazho is a goddess who protects sailors, traders, and brings security, prosperity, and success. Worshippers can come to seek blessings from Mazho at the Nam Yao Mazho Gyung Shrine, located in Samut Sakhon province. The shrine is open for worship daily from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Inside the shrine, there are also deities brought from Taiwan, such as Fude Zhengshen, Guan Yu, Cai Shen Ye, Guanyin, Lady of Birth, Wenchang Dijun, Nezha or San Taizi, Tiger God, Yuexia Laoren, and the God of Destiny.

Objectives of the Event

1.To stimulate the economy, trade, and tourism by using a mini-marathon as a medium.

2.To promote the Nam Yao Mazho Gyung Shrine Association and Taiwanese Culture to the public.

3.To encourage the general public to exercise for health by participating in walk-run health events.

4.To donate proceeds from the event, after deducting expenses, to the Nam Yao Mazho Gyung Shrine Foundation and other charitable causes.

Entry fee is 500 baht for all distance categories, excluding postal delivery fees.

For delivery of the shirt and bib number via EMS,

applicants must pay an additional 60 baht per person. Register and pay by February 25, 2026

Applicants must select the postal delivery option.

Items will be sent individually, one envelope per runner.

There is no service to send multiple items in one envelope. Delivery will begin March 2-3-4, 2026

Registration for the race may close before the deadline if the maximum number of applicants is reached.

For safety reasons, runners should wear light, breathable running shirts that wick away sweat and heat well

Who runners receive prize money of 1,000 THB or more will have 5.0% withholding tax deducted from the prize value, in accordance with the Revenue Department’s announcement No. Tor Por 4/2528 regarding the requirement for payers to assess taxes under Section 40 of the Revenue Code.

Participants who did not choose postal delivery can collect their items at the event location:

CERTIFICATION OF PARTICIPATION

I certify that I am physically fit to compete in the category I have applied for, will abide by the competition rules, accept any injury that may occur while running, and waive any right to claim any damages from the organizers of the event and conference. I will provide photos or videos for publicity purposes without notice. The registration fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
